Help! I have Spring Fever!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Kansas and living on the Prairie.  I really love the fact that we have 4 distinct seasons.  Each one brings new routines, different wardrobe options and a constantly changing view.  How could you ever get bored?  I love the long days of summer, the crisp change in the air in fall, and the chance to hole up and snuggle with my honey during the long winter evenings.  And, of course, spring is always welcome after the cold winter.

This year, though, it seems like winter has lasted half the year at least!  The early snows and White Christmas were lots of fun.  Even the cold night snuggling had its appeal :) .  But a little warm up a couple of weeks ago brought a real thaw out of the ground – or more accurately – the mud!   Unless you have livestock, you probably can’t even get a picture of what a hassle it is!  I won’t go into the gory details, but the new twist tonight is that it has frozen in the exact formation that it was in the last time an animal walked through it – in other words, you need strong ankles to get around anywhere.

So, now that Valentine’s Day is nearly here and I’ve been working on St. Patrick’s and Easter ornaments, I’m really starting to think about summer and flowers and gardening and sunshine and butterflies….you get the picture.

This ornament made from a whimsical Mary Engelbreit fabric with its little perky butterfly is just the thing to make me smile and think of better days around the corner.

Be sure and look for this ornament and my new St. Patrick’s and Easter ornaments in my Ebay store at http://www.darlsprairiecreations.com
